The wine: Aged for 24 months in French oak barrels specially selected by the master cooper of the house Muga and assembled on site, this Spanish vintage is a magnificent reflection of the Rioja appellation. Complex and refined, it evolves with notes of plum, spices (pepper, cinnamon, licorice) and is delicately embellished by a fair woodiness bringing a a hint of vanilla, roasted notes and a touch of evolution going towards leather. Full of finesse and elegance, you can open this great Spanish bottle now but it will only be better after a few years of rest in the cellar. Cheers!

The estate: Family estate created in 1932 by Isaac Muga and Aurora Caño, the Bodega Muga is today a true emblem of wine-growing Spain and more particularly of Rioja. Today the owner of 250 hectares (and also sourcing from 150 ha of partner winegrowers), the operation is the only one in the country to have its own coopers, allowing it to perfectly control the breeding of its vintages by adapting the types of wood and the toasting of the barrels to the personality of each wine. The Tempranillo grape variety is the star of the farm alongside Grenache, Mazuelo (Carignan) and Graciano for the reds. Discover their authentic, elegant and generous wines representing the best of the classicism of the Rioja region.
