The AOC Fixin is located at the very north of the Burgundy vineyard, within the Côte de Nuits and as an extension of the Marsannay appellation. It consists of 100 hectares, almost all of Pinot Noir, including 18 hectares classified as Premier Cru (6 climates). The vines are often situated at a slight altitude between 100m and 300m and the soils are clay-limestone. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the only grape varieties allowed here. The wines produced generally offer very good value for money in the region and can express a lot of finesse even though some vintages are particularly racy and characterful, deserving to be cellared.
