The spirit : Displaying a beautiful aromatic complexity enhanced by a hint of peat, this magnificent Irish Single Malt Whiskey offers a delicious malty character typical of the Waterford house style. Notes of spices (pepper, clove), orange zest, and chocolate are also present. 4 types of casks are used during the aging process: ex-bourbon casks, natural sweet wine casks, as well as French and American oak, all complementing each other perfectly. The texture is indulgent yet pleasantly light on the palate, and despite the 47°, the alcohol is particularly smooth. Impressively precise !

True to the revolutionary principles of the Irish Waterford distillery, this Cuvée Argot is also defined by local barley sourced from 14 Irish farms as well as a production process whose transparency is absolute. All information related to the production of your whiskey is in fact accessible thanks to a TÉIREOIR CODE (terroir code) placed on the back of the bottle, allowing you in particular to know the farms where the barley was sourced, its harvest date, the types of casks used, the maturation period, and even the exact distillation date.Unique in the world of whisky !

The brand : Created in 2016, the Waterford distillery is a true UFO in the world of whisky ! Behind this brilliant project is a great figure in the spirits industry:  Mark Reynier. With extensive experience in the sector, he notably had already brought the Scottish distillery Bruichladdich back to life from its ashes. With Waterford, there was from the very beginning a very clear intention: to produce exceptional Single Malts thanks to local barley, all with the greatest possible transparency and total traceability. The choice to establish the distillery in the southeast of Ireland is therefore no coincidence: it is indeed in the land of the shamrock that the highest quality barley in the world is found (even the Scots say so!).

In partnership with a hundred local farms and thanks to plot-by-plot monitoring, the company created the concept of Single Farm Origin, meaning for a whisky that its barley comes from only one farm and therefore from a very specific terroir. A vision offering many analogies with the world of wine but a complete revolution for the sector... some vintages are even certified  organic and biodynamic !
