The wine: The cuvée Roble is a great classic wonderfully expressing the characteristics of the Spanish appellation Ribera del Duero. Made from 100% Tempranillo grapes, this delicious wine distills powerful aromas of black fruits (blackcurrant, cherry, blackberry), a nice woodiness bringing a  vanilla touch as well as tasty spices (pepper, cinnamon). Its generous and intense body will pair wonderfully with red meat!

The estate: Protos is a major historical entity in wine-producing Spain. Created in 1927 under the name “Ribera del Duero” (a time when the appellation did not yet exist), the company is the result of the union of 11 Spanish winegrowers wishing to reveal to the world the quality of their terroirs.  In 1982, when the DO Ribera del Duero was founded, the estate then gave it its name and changed its name to 'Protos', meaning 'First' in Greek. Today, the operation covers 1,400 hectares and the brand is exported all over the world. Its generous and authentic wines are recognized and praised by amateurs and professionals.
