Bernard Gaucher Champagne

The vineyards of the Bernard Gaucher estate extend to the south of Champagne, in the Aube department, at the heart of the Côte des Bar. Mainly planted with Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape variety of this area, the 22-hectare vineyard also includes a small proportion of Chardonnay. The plots are spread over the villages of Urville, Ailleville, and Arconville, where the clay-limestone soils promote the expression of champagnes that are both generous and balanced. Today, Guillaume Gaucher represents the new generation of this family estate and is responsible for both vineyard work and winemaking, with particular attention paid to the quality of the grapes and respect for the terroir.Inspired by the rolling landscapes of the region, he notably created the Magelie cuvée, a friendly and elegant champagne, designed for festive moments without ever compromising the high standards and precision that characterize the estate.

Champagne Bernard Gaucher, the authentic expression of the Côte des Bar

Located in Arconville, in the heart of the Côte des Bar, in the Aube, the independent champagne house Bernard Gaucher embodies the southern face of Champagne, a region recognized for its slightly warmer climate compared to that of the Montagne de Reims or the Vallée de la Marne. Since 2017, Guillaume Gaucher has succeeded his father Bernard and continues the family know-how with a careful artisanal approach, from vineyard management to winemaking. Bernard Gaucher champagnes stand out for their balance between freshness, generosity, and aromatic precision, offering accessible cuvées while maintaining a true winemaker's identity.

The Bernard Gaucher champagne range

The Bernard Gaucher range highlights a selection of cuvées representative of the Côte des Bar style, where Pinot Noir plays a central role. Each champagne here is designed to offer pleasure through a balance of freshness, fruit, and elegance, with profiles suited both for aperitifs and at the table.

-The Magelie range occupies an important place in the property's identity. The Magelie Brut cuvée, for example, embodies a pleasurable, expressive, and harmonious champagne, where the roundness of Pinot Noir is combined with a touch of freshness brought by Chardonnay. The Prestige cuvée from the same range develops greater complexity and length on the palate, while the Rosé cuvée of the same name captivates with its indulgent character and accessibility, ideal for festive occasions.

-The Réserve Brut cuvée represents the classic expression of the house. Accessible and balanced, it delights with its immediate fruitiness and beautiful liveliness, ideal as an aperitif or to accompany simple dishes. In a slightly more structured style.

-Carte d’Or Brut offers more roundness and depth, while maintaining a lovely freshness on the finish.

-Prestige Brut Millésimé, from a single harvest year, showcases a more accomplished expression of the terroir with increased aromatic complexity and a fuller texture, suitable for gastronomic pairings.

-The Rosé Brut from the Bernard Gaucher house stands out for its indulgent and fruity profile, marked by notes of fresh red fruits,

-The Réserve Demi-Sec offers a more generous dosage, particularly appreciated as an aperitif or paired with lightly sweetened desserts.

-The Blanc de Blancs, made exclusively from Chardonnay, offers a more refined and taut interpretation of the house style, with citrus aromas and an elegant finish.

To suit every occasion, Bernard Gaucher champagnes are also available in different formats, from the half-bottle, perfect for tastings for two, to the magnum, the preferred format for aging and large gatherings. The entire range thus reflects a family production true to its terroir and focused on the pleasure of tasting. This is regularly highlighted by the specialized press, as is the case in the Hachette guide. Order your bottles now on our online store !
